Close to Agaete, in the village El Risco, is a walk called Charco Azul. Before you will go on the coastal road, you will drive through the village Agaete. It is worth to have a stop at this fishers village and have a look around to explore the famous harbour Puerto de las Nieves. You can even see Tenerife and the highest mountain of Spain, the Teide. The ferry leaves from Agaete to Tenerife, this is the closest harbour from Gran Canaria to our neighbour island. 
The road until El Risco is about 15 km. El Risco is a small village with it own beach. There is a bar/restaurant where you can buy some water and snacks before you can start the walk, Charco Azul. The walk starts from the bar. The distance of the total track is about 4 kilometers. It is an easy walk and something you can do with the whole family. 
The beautiful nature, the palmtrees, mountains and waterfalls. You pass by some water pools on the way until you reach the final point, there is the waterfall where you can have a swim. So, do not forget to bring your swimming gear. At the waterfall you can pic nic on the rocks and enjoy the environment.

Agaete – El Risco – Charco Azul walk
Dichtbij Agaete, in het dorpje El Risco, is een wandeling genaamd Charco Azul. Voordat je de kustweg op gaat, rijd je door het dorp Agaete. Het is de moeite waard om een stop te maken in dit vissersdorpje en een kijkje te nemen om de beroemde haven Puerto de las Nieves te verkennen. Je kunt zelfs Tenerife en de hoogste berg van Spanje, de Teide, zien. De veerboot vertrekt van Agaete naar Tenerife, dit is de dichtstbijzijnde haven van Gran Canaria naar ons buureiland.
De weg tot El Risco is ongeveer 15 km. El Risco is een klein dorp met een eigen strand. Er is een bar / restaurant waar u wat water en snacks kunt kopen voordat u de wandeling gaat beginnen, Charco Azul. De wandeling begint vanaf de bar. De totale afstand van het parcours is ongeveer 4 kilometer. Het is een gemakkelijke wandeling en iets wat je met het hele gezin kunt doen.
De prachtige natuur, de palmbomen, bergen en watervallen. We passeren wat waterpoelen onderweg totdat je het laatste punt bereikt, daar is de waterval waar je kunt zwemmen. Vergeet dus niet je zwemkleding mee te nemen. Bij de waterval kunt u op de rotsen picknicken en genieten van de omgeving.
